JAX® Mice are bred within and shipped from multiple breeding rooms, all located on The Jackson Laboratory campus. Each room houses a different set of strains of JAX® Mice. This index correlates the more commonly used JAX® Mice strains with breeding/shipping rooms of origin. It includes a list of strains sorted by strain name in alphabetical order, a list of strains sorted by stock number in numerical order, and a list of strains sorted by room number in numerical order.

The strains included in this index pertain to commonly used JAX® Mice, which are raised in The Jackson Laboratory's Production Facilities. The information does not pertain to mice raised in The Jackson Laboratory's Research Facilities. To quickly find the health report for a specific strain (commonly used JAX® Mice from our Production Facilities only):

  1. Conduct a search on the strain by name or stock number;
  2. Select the strain name to view the data sheet for that strain;
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the data sheet page to the "Animal Health Reports" heading and select the room designation to view the room report.
